WHO WE ARE:
KLRF is a nonprofit organization comprised of hardworking, resilient, and diversified Farmers from different ethnic and economic backgrounds working together as a Family to overcome challenges related to agricultural activities in Central Oahu. Members are operating under a unique set of circumstances, seeking the best for our Families, our Community, and the Land. Farming is a lifestyle; difficult but rewarding; and KLRF is striving for opportunities to benefit our Families, our Community, and the Land.
KLRF is committed to
meeting the needs of our Families and making our actions good for our Community and the Land, contributing to better health, economics, environment, and food security through local, fresh food provision, business opportunities, as well as personal subsistence.
KLRF is benefitting the Community through tax payments (with limited services or public utilities), job creation, local shopping, and provision of healthy foods- all in partnerships with schools, food industries, tourism, and other Agricultural organizations. Farmers are serving the Land by treating the Land with respect, identifying and protecting historical sites, and preserving and enriching non-prime and fallow Agricultural land as a green and open space in Central Oahu."
